Patient Journey - the diagnosis, treatment and follow up when diagnosed with a bowel tumour app for iPhone and iPad

In 2008, we launched the first interactive Patient Information DVD which described the diagnosis, treatment and follow up a patient may experience when diagnosed with a bowel tumour.
The feedback from this DVD was so positive that in 2012 it was updated to include new diagnostic procedures and the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Programme.
The DVD became the benchmark for informing and preparing patients and supporting their carers, before they started on their treatment journey.
We felt that the content of the DVD would benefit patients and their families not only in Merthyr Tydfil in the South Wales Valleys of the UK but throughout the world too….so now, here is the App version.
It contains the same information as the DVD whilst taking advantage of the unique levels of interactivity an app offers.
We hope this App, like the DVD before, informs, demystifies and prepares patients and carers with bowel cancer for the journey ahead. All of the filming was undertaken at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, under the Directorship of Professor P. N. Haray a Consultant Surgeon and visiting Professor of Coloproctology at The University of South Wales.
